Wine List

Our selection of wines has been carefully sourced and the list is, we think, very reasonably priced. These are wines in the main from small producers who are able to give them extra care and attention during their production. The descriptions are short and to the point and hopefully will be a good guide to help you decide which wine will compliment your food choices.

White Wine

Le Véritable
Made from the less well known Gros Manseng grape variety, this French wine has notes of tangerine and lemon. A great summer wine.

Bella Modella La Farfalla Pinot Grigio Bianco
There is a massive quality spread in Pinot Grigio and most are distinctly average or below. Not this one; rose and citrus flavours with balanced acidity.

Solara Orange 2017
A sulphate free white made in Romania from a mix of grapes. Fermented with the skins and seeds to leave an orange colour wine with hints of orange and vanilla. Try it and see!

The Googly Chardonnay
Produced in South Australia. Having had its reputation trashed by footballers wives and ‘90’s hen nights, it is time this grape made a bit of a comeback. Bright, zingy and clean.

Mayfly Sauvignon Blanc
From the Marlborough region of New Zealand. Kiwi’s have been the pre-eminent producers of really good Sauvignon Blanc for a long time. This wine is lovely and has all the characteristics you’ll be expecting, wonderfully crisp

Sancerre Domaine des Buissonnes
There is an entirely different character to old fashioned, old World Sauvignon. This is classic Sancerre made to be drunk with seafood, fish and even on its own.

Solara Orange 2017
A sulphate free white made in Romania from a mix of grapes. Fermented with the skins and seeds to leave an orange colour wine with hints of orange and vanilla. Try it and see!

Chateau Guipiere Muscadet La Tour 2108
A rich, full white which the producers say can be aged for up to 8 years but drinking it this young gives a freshness that works with fish, cheese and sunshine.

Chablis Fournillon 2016
Produced on a family run farm close to Chablis. Notes of green apple and
lime, easy to drink.

Funkstille Gruner Veltliner 2019
Funksille means radio silence apparently – enjoy this dry Austrian (not Australian!) with hints of pear, melon and zippy grapefruit

Red Wine

Fleurie Chateau de Raousset
Classic Beaujolais -On the lighter end of the spectrum but a serious wine that goes particularly well with lamb or duck or, come to that, any lunchtime.

Largesse Merlot Pays D’Oc
From the south of France, this is one of Becky’s favourites. Gives you ripe plums, blackberries and vanilla if Becky hasn’t drunk it all!

De Alto Amo Rioja 2019
A Spanish Rioja full of red berry fruit laced with vanilla, cassis, cherry, plum, raspberry and hints of mocha and liquorice – an easy drinking red.

The Wrong ‘Un Shiraz Cabernet
Well constructed blend of two grapes, silky tannins and good finish from Australia.

Intrigo Negromara
From the Puglia region of Italy. There is real quality and value for money to be found in the confusing world of the Italian winemaker. This is a great find – a berry fruit belter.

Chateau Prieure Canteloup
A classic red wine from Bordeaux, deep and rich. Great with red meat, or anything you like!

Chateau Les Amoureuses “ La Barbare” Cote du Rhone
A consistent surprise to most! One of the best Cote du Rhône wines we have ever tasted, vanilla from new American barrels and a blend of Grenache & Shiraz – a corker!

Aglianico Del Beneventano
Another Italian producer. Berries, cherries and vanilla, an elegant wine. An excellent match for meats, pasta and cheese.

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Ceps des Papes
Produced on a family run farm close to Chablis. Notes of green apple and lime, easy to drink.

Rosé wine

Bella Modella Pinot Grigio Rose
From Italy. Beloved of those who haven’t yet decided if they really like wine. Strangely even after the third bottle, they’re often not sure. Easy drinking, medium wine.

Dessert wine

Manon Muscat de Beaumes de Venise
A sweet, fortified wine from the Rhone valley tasting of honey and apricots.
